Avoid the frustration of ‘too hard’ or the boredom of ‘too easy’ with the First Grade Reader Collection, the proven way for your child to master First Grade at exactly the right level. Reading isn’t one-size-fits-all—especially in first grade, where every child’s journey is unique. By utilizing our teacher-designed framework, you can now meet your child exactly where they are—bridging the gap between classroom phonics and true independent reading. Our short story collections are the perfect solution to keep them engaged and help them exceed their end-of-year goals. Now includes free access to the First Grade Reader Comprehension App. Inside Level 1: Early Reader Confidence Master Full Sentences: Designed for children who know their sounds but are ready to read complete sentences with ease. Frustration-Free Reading: Uses predictable patterns and "sight words" to eliminate mid-sentence stumbling. 20 Engaging Stories: 10 fiction tales to develop social skills & 10 non-fiction adventures to explore the world and foster curiosity. Deep Comprehension: Includes vocabulary keys and teacher-designed questions to ensure they truly understand the plot. Is Level 1 the best fit for your child right now, or should you consider a different starting point from the collection? Reading success is built on confidence. If the "starting point" is too high, a child learns to dislike reading. If it’s just right, they become unstoppable. Consider adding one of our other titles to your basket to complement Level 1: Add Foundation if your child: Is still mastering phonics Struggles to blend 3-letter words (cat, hop, sun) Finds a simple sentence challenging Add Level 2 or 3 if your child: Reads short stories smoothly Is comfortable with longer sentences Is ready for multi-syllable words and chapter-style plots Still unsure where to start? As educators, our advice is simple: When in doubt, start with the lowest level. Even if your child read Level 2 with support, starting lower builds reading stamina and speed. There is nothing more powerful for a young reader than "flying" through a book with ease. It builds the positive momentum they need to tackle the harder levels later. Why the First Grade Reader Collection is your first choice: Aligned with 1st Grade Reading Standards: Every story mapped against Lexile-informed ranges. Ensures your child is building the exact vocabulary and syntax needed for classroom success. Created by Teachers & Parents for Young Readers: As both educators and parents, we’ve mastered the balance between learning and play—ensuring every story is as engaging as it is educational. Master More Than Just Words: We don't just stop at the last sentence. Every story includes a full page of Comprehension Activities: To ensure your child truly understands what they’ve read. The Bonus Activity Pack: Includes a QR code to access Color-Me-In Character pages to encourage creativity and increase engagement and a Certificate of Mastery to help your reader celebrate that victory moment & celebrate success. FREE READING COMPREHENSION APP: Let the learning continue beyond the page — interactive comprehension activities reinforce every story so your child retains more, remembers more, and reads with more confidence. Whether your child is just beginning to blend sounds or is ready to tackle their first "big kid" chapter, The First Grade Reader Collection is the companion they need for a successful school year. Bring the wonder back to reading and give your child the boost they deserve
