Author: Porter Stansberry
In 2011, a financial newsletter writer from Baltimore released a documentary called The End of America. It warned, in plain language, of four things almost no one else was saying out loud at the time: that the dollar’s run as the world’s reserve currency was ending; that the American middle class was being quietly strip-mined by a monetary system rigged in favor of Washington and Wall Street; that the country’s social fabric was coming apart in ways the political class could not see and refused to measure; and that the whole arrangement was heading for a crisis unlike anything America had faced since the 1930s. More than forty million people viewed the documentary online. Millions more read printed versions of it over the next decade. Most of the financial press mocked it. But all of the book’s major predictions have now come true. In 2029: The End of America, Porter Stansberry returns with an urgent update to his landmark documentary. For the first time since The End of America was first released, many Americans can now see the risks he warned about fifteen years ago. Their savings have been plundered by inflation. Their families have been destroyed by alien ideologies. Their culture is being ground into dust by identity politics, while they lose control of their property and their sovereignty. An entire generation of Americans has been taught—inside the very institutions their parents funded—to hate the civilization they inherited. Our cities have been destroyed by addiction and violence. And, as this book is being published, our democracy is being dismantled by extremists determined to install one-party rule across America. The crisis is no longer coming. It’s here: the dollar regime is now openly breaking, gold has tripled, and outstanding debt has doubled since the 2008 crisis. The federal government is running peacetime deficits above 6 percent of GDP, and our government's debt is spiraling out of control, past $40 trillion. Six of the ten richest counties in America are now suburbs of Washington, D.C., while 158,000 Americans a year are dying deaths of despair—suicides, overdoses, and alcohol-related causes. Stansberry names it for what it is: the Fourth Turning—the same eighty-year crisis cycle that produced the Revolution, the Civil War, and the Great Depression/World War II—arriving exactly on schedule. But this is not a book about despair. It is a book about how to come out the other side with your family’s wealth, dignity, and freedom intact. Across ten chapters drawing on 300 years of financial history and the insights of the most important social and monetary theorists of all time, Stansberry lays out the most complete Fourth Turning survival playbook ever published for the ordinary American investor.
